Surprise!!!

One of the best things in the world by far is the concept of suprises!!! I seriously love being the recipient as well as surprising other people.  This week has been one of the greatest and you want to know why?!  Because it has been filled with surprises.  Starting Saturday my awesome husband surprised me with an early birthday gift!  He picked me up from a long day of school and I arrived to a beautiful, clean apartment equipped with birthday gifts.  The night was filled with surprises as we went and played tennis and then off to a delicious dinner.  On Thursday I was again doted on when Jacob took me to Olive Garden for our new favorite dish of Gnocchi soup!  The birthday continued as I was given my BEST birthday present on Friday.  I sometimes laugh at Jacob because he has such a passion and loves for tennis shoes.  If Jacob could buy anything it would probably be a new pair of Nike's.  Well, I have often poked a little fun at Jacob because of this but I was proven wrong on Friday when Jacob gave me my first pair of Nike Frees.  THEY ARE INCREDIBLE! Bright pink and silver, they are the most flexible shoe.

The story continues as Jacob and I with our really good friends, the Berezays, decided to go to Utah for the weekend.  On Wednesday I got on the computer to just see the events that were taking place in SLC to see if there was anything we just couldn't pass up.  I was overjoyed when I found cheapo tickets for the OKC Thunder and Jazz basketball game.  I quickly texted my brother in law Dusty to see if this would be a good game to go to and if Jacob would approve of the teams.  It just happened that Jacob's favorite player Kevin Durrant was on the Thunder!  After 10 minutes of contemplating and disturbing about 3 guys in the school library to ask them if this would be a good game, I decided to get the tickets...of course it would be a surprise.  I was more excited to unveil the game to Jacob and our friends than I was my birthday.  As we left Friday afternoon, I told myself I would hold the surprise till we got to Pocatello.  Ironically enough, one of the first things Kennedy our friend mentioned in the car was that we should have gotten tickets for the game that night.  I could tell that both Jacob and Kennedy were a little disappointed that they had not done so....perfect:)  As we pulled into Pocatello, I couldn't stand it any longer.  "Guys so I found something online that I thought was really neat and I wanted to show you," I said as I pulled out the tickets and handed them to each passenger in the car.  It took a moment for the realization of what was in their hands to set in but when it did, excitement exploded throughout the car.  Not only was the game a ton of fun but the whole weekend was a joy as we got to go and participate in the Salt Lake Temple, shop, eat at Rodizzio an AMAZING Brazillian resturaunt, and just spend time together. All in all, a wonderful week for the Simpsons!

Simpson's Favorite Game

There is a word in the English language, androgyny.  It means when someone adopts both masculine and feminine traits.  I first learned about it in my developmental psychology class.  It is said that individuals will attain this combination of both feminine and masculine traits after they get married.  Well, I can say that this has happened to me.  Thanks to the help of the Tim Tebow and Jacob's love for football, I too have become a fan of the sport.  I am here to report that I watched my first FULL football game this last season...I was actually cheering for the team and watching the plays...what?!  Best of all it was time that Jacob and I had together supporting the team.  Can't wait til another season!

Our favorite football game food...Hot Wing Chicken Bites!

1/4 cup hot wing sauce
2-3 cups shredded chicken
1 cup shredded chedder cheese
1/2 block fat free cream cheese
crushed corn flakes
flour
2 lightly beaten eggs

Mix hot sauce, chicken, cream cheese, and cheese together.  Roll chicken mixture into balls, then roll balls in flour, egg, and finishing with corn flakes.  Bake at 350 until done. Sooooooo good!

Soon to Forget

This evening we were watching my favorite channel of TLC.  There was a show on and I don't even remember the name of it but it was about a girl with the disease progeria.  The disease causes the host to age more quickly than normal.  They are usually quite small, without hair, and have a lot of other undesirable symptoms.  The girl was talking about how she would have dreams of having long beautiful hair.  All she wanted was to be able to have long hair that she would let blow in the wind.  As I was watching I thought of how often I complain about going outside and the wind blowing my hair into my face.  What a simple everday occurance that happens, and yet I have NEVER realized that for someone without hair, a bad hair day because of that nasty wind could mean the world.  I am so quick to forget the blessings that I enjoy each day.  Tonight I would like to say five simple things that I am grateful for
1. The feeling of sore legs after a workout because this means I have the ability to run
2.  Stress from school because this means I have the opportunity to get an education
3.  Having to get up early because I have a job
4.  Sharing my bed because I have someone that I love to share it with
5.  Feeling exhausted after a long week because I have accomplished many things
